Recycling in Germany

Reading these articles makes me realize how weird Germany is. I don't really understand why they have to go through all the effort to sort trash yourself when someone will mess it up and it will have to be sorted anyways. We have different trash cans for recyclables, paper, etc. in the dorms, but everybody just throws anything in any can. I feel like that would be the same way in Germany.

The closed door thing is really weird to me as well. I would never knock on somebody's door if it was closed. I would assume that they were busy and come back later or text them. Do Germans text? Germans always seem so serious about everything. I think they'd be better off if they just chilled out.

The final article was about German magazines and how they really don't have any standards. It seems weird that people who take things so seriously would read such silly stuff. I don't know about Germans, they seem weird.
