AMD 1 -- Wild for Winnetou

Hallo!

Ich lese das article "In Germany, Wild for Winnetou". Ich weiß almost nicht about native Amerikaners. I find it interesting that out of all the things Deutchen could find to get excited about, native Amerikaners was what ihr chose. To me, native Amerikaner bedeutet ein klein group of personen that are reaching the edge of survival, which is nothing to be excited about. However, it seems that Karl May managed to make native Amerikaners seem gut und exciting, despite the fact that Amerikaners see them as nothing particularly interesting. Moreover, it is incredible that this excitement has survived to the modern day and that der alt personen have not become disillusioned with it, even though it was written eine hundert jahre ago. Ich imagine that the wars helped, since it probably let die Deutchen relate to the native Amerikaners afterwards, as an oppressed people struggling to survive against die Amerikaners.
