Unlike a decent amount of modern day America, Germany has a very well developed public transportation system. With it being such a hassle to acquire a driver's license and smaller distance to travel anyway, it only makes sense that Germans would utilize trains and bicycles so much. The culture is very accommodating to biker's and even pedestrians are very strict about following rules so everyone gets to where they are going quickly and safely. If I have learned anything from any of the previous Kultur readings and this one it is that German's are strict, frank, and utilitarian. Yet, they don't seem like they'd be a disagreeable bunch at all. Germany seems very interested in investing in other cultures as well as spreading awareness of their own, so despite what some foreigners might interpret as a hardened exterior is actually just a matter of cultural differences. I myself am still surprised to have learned that Germans are allegedly one of the funniest groups of people and have quite the tradition of public nudity.
